Harvard University Fitness Center & Entertainment

Harvard University offers several fitness centers for student use.  The Hemenway Gym at the Law School Campus is closest to HDS (see full list on the Harvard Recreation website).  Gym membership through Harvard is partially subsidized by HDS, but there is a cost to the student.  HDS chooses not to fully subsidize the cost because our students can choose whether or not they join a fitness center.

Wellness programs include group classes, massage, acupuncture, group and individual therapy, and other mental "fitness" options.

Harvard University has approximately 22,000 students in college, graduate and vocational schools located in Cambridge and Boston.  When people refer to Harvard students, they often refer to a subset of approximately 6,700 students attending Harvard College.  Students arrive at the end of August every year.

More than 400 official student organizations that include extracurricular, co-curricular and athletic opportunities in addition to academics, Harvard students are active in and around campus.  Whether playing on the field at Harvard Stadium or cheering on The Harvard Crimson, volunteering through organizations such as PBHA, promoting entrepreneurial activities at Harvard Innovation Lab, writing or editing at Harvard Crimson or Harvard Lampoon, or multiple labs  Researching at one of the, Harvard students are constantly learning - and constantly busy!

Assembly system

The housing system at Harvard is designed to create a complete collegiate experience for all four years of undergraduate education.  As freshmen, students live in one of the dormitories at Harvard Yard, a prime location, and eat in the historic and picturesque Annberg Dining Hall.

After their first year at Harvard, the students are housed in one of the 12 homes on campus and continue to live there at Harvard for the remainder of their residential lives.  More than 97 percent of Harvard undergraduates choose to remain on campus for all four years, creating a strong campus community and graduate experience.
